As Alpha Chi, we pride ourselves in service, humility, and giving back to our community. We value making a difference on a global level as well as finding ways to assist our local Athens area. Our Alpha Chi Omega national philanthropy, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, raises funds to promote domestic violence awareness. Through sponsoring domestic violence hotlines, volunteering at local women's shelters, and collecting items to benefit women and children living in local shelters, Alpha Chi Omega helps to shine a light on a problem that is often covered in secrecy.

Barefoot on the Lawn is our annual fall philanthropy dinner benefiting Project Safe, a safe haven that helps women who have been affected by domestic violence. The evening consists of a classic Southern meal, a live band and so much fun. It's tradition to have homemade fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. Every one always looks forward to this delicious meal. We are so grateful for everyone who comes out to help support Domestic Violence Awareness

Filmanthropy is our Spring philanthropy event that raises money for Domestic Violence Awareness and Project Safe. This spring, we held the event for the second time at Herty Field on beautiful North Campus. We sold snacks, t-shirts, and watched "She's the Man" in April 2017. It was a huge success and we can't wait to continue this new tradition! Check out our album on Facebook to see more!

One way we directly work to end Domestic Violence is by volunteering at Project Safe's Thrift Store in Athens. Donations to the store go to survivors of domestic violence and sale proceeds fund educational programs and counseling services. We help organize donations and clean the store to help meet our mutual goal of ending domestic violence.
