Our fabulous sister Savannah was selected for a coveted internship with the place we all know and love. Read on to hear what she has to say about her amazing experience!
What is your name + where are you from?- Savannah Knudsen from Lilburn, Georgia
Major?- Marketing
What's your summer job/internship?- Chick-Fil-A Marketing Internship
Describe to us a typical day on the job- Chick-fil-A is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. Our mission statement is to “Be Remarkable”, but the Cathy’s (founding family) also say, “If you aren’t having fun, you probably aren’t doing it right”. So our day’s are a blast- but but full of fast-paced challenges. Most of my time is spent working on my Marketing projects and learning about the department as a whole. As an intern class, we have also had the privilege of spending quality time with many of the executives and leaders within Chick-fil-A. They have shared their insights and advice about corporate culture, leadership, and life in general. Oh, we also love talking about our dear friends the Cows and enjoying Chick-fil-A sandwiches from time to time.
What's the most fulfilling aspect of your internship?- I have been able to meet some of the most amazing people this summer. They have really made it a point to invest in the interns and mentor us during the time we have together. Chick-fil-A is full of talented, inspirational individuals, and each of them have taken time to get to know me. They are always willing to talk and give me advice both professionally and personally. The company and the people within have taught me so much about servant leadership, the value of excellence over success, and what it means to live a life with purpose and passion.
Why Alpha Chi?- When I came to college I knew exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to be surrounded by people who brought out the best in me and challenged me to be the greatest sister, student, leader, and friend I could be. Alpha Chi has done just that. Every day I spend time with some of the most incredible girls I know. The make me laugh, encourage me to dream big, and have given me the greatest of friendships. The challenge me to do more and be more, and for that I will be forever grateful.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?- I’m dying to backpack through Europe. I would love to take a few months and go all over- France, Spain, Italy, Greece… anywhere and everywhere! I love the freedom and adventure of it all. I’m hoping to really make it happen next summer.
